greetings from NEWEA and gave a brief overview of the issues that were
discussed at NEWEA&#8217;s long-term planning session.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>She also re-presented the Alfred E.
Peloquin Award to Chris Petrone of the Narragansett WWTF and the Operator of
the Year Award to Daniel Lima of the Quonset Point WWTF.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>She also congratulated the Narraga=
nsett
Bay Commission for receiving the first-ever NEWEA Wastewater Utility Manage=
ment

Matters&#8221; fared very well in the New England regional competition held=

=3D"on">New
  Hampshire</st1:State></st1:place>.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp;
</span>Fecal Matters finished in second place behind the strong New Hampshi=
re
Sewer Snakes<span style=3D'mso-tab-count:1'>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&=
nbsp;&nbsp; </span>team.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>The RI team collected a first place
trophy for the Collections System Event, a second place trophy in the
Laboratory event and third place trophies in the Process Control Event and =
the
Safety Event.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>In the Godwin P=
ump
Maintenance Event, they finished 12 hundredths of a second out of third pla=
ce.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Congratulations to Fecal Matters t=

members Brian Lavallee, Scott Goodinson, Donald Shurtleff, Robert Sheridan =

erforming
well in <st1:State w:st=3D"on">New Hampshire</st1:State>, the team is prepa=

diligently for a strong showing in the national competition in <st1:place

on">California</st1:State></st1:place>.</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>On June 12<sup>th</sup>, NWPCA held its annual Hot Dog=
 Roast
at the Narragansett WWTF.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Att=
endees
feasted on hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, beans and all the fixings! O=
nce
again, the event was a big hit to all who attended.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Thanks to Doug Nettleton, Superint=
endent
of the Narragansett WWTF, who graciously hosted the event.</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>Two days later, NWPCA hosted it most successful ever A=
nnual
Golf Tournament at the Cranston Country Club.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>There were 112 golfers who enjoyed=
 a
great day of golf, food and drink.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp;
</span>All golfers were treated to coffee and breakfast pastry during
registration.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Coolers filled =
with
soda and water were placed strategically throughout the golf course.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>At the turn, golfers were able to =
take
advantage of a barbecue lunch.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp;
</span>After all rounds of golf were completed, participants were treated t=
o a
prime rib dinner.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Here is the
